No, of course not, I think we should leave politics to the Pagans and the Atheists. Otherwise we would have nothing to complain about! And we would far rather complain than actually do something positive!
THE WHOLE GOSPEL
How tragic if we feed the hungry, but not tell them of the Bread of Life.
How futile to house the homeless, but not tell them of the Father's house in which are many mansions.
How inadequate to build wells, but not to tell them of the Living Water.
How ineffective to clothe the naked, but not to tell them of the robes of righteousness that can only come through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is an oxymoron to speak of a non controversial Gospel. By its very essence and nature the Gospel is controversial. The question is: do we want to please God or man?
Pornography is one of the greatest threats to South Africa. Pornography is creating a generation of sexual predators. Porn is a satanic counterfeit of sex. Instead of being focused on one's marriage partner, pornography focuses on self-centred, self-gratification.
God said: “It is not good for man to be alone” before the Fall. How much more true is it since man's fall into sin!
GOD BLESS SOUTH AFRICA
We want God to bless South Africa. However, God is not going to bless a nation that aborts its babies.
Whoever wants to win his world for Christ, must be willing to come into conflict with it. Are you willing to be criticised by fellow Christians? Are you willing to pay the price and endure the opposition and criticism that comes with faithfulness to Christ and His calling?
It is easier to criticise, to destroy and to slander than to build up.
We want God to bless South Africa, but He cannot bless a nation that is in rebellion to Him.
Why is the church so passive and inactive? Much of the church in South Africa is ineffective because most of its members are distracted by so many things, including being addicted to time consuming passive entertainment, obsessive TV watching and video games, worldly entertainment and questionable magazines.
Many Christians live in debt and are caught up in a cycle of superficial and short-sighted goals. Materialism has gripped so many. Others in the church have a ministry of criticism and the gift of discouragement. Divisiveness, jealousy and pride afflict all too many fellowships.
A pessi-millenialism about the end times paralyses many Christians and prevents them from planning long term. Antinomianism has also crippled the effectiveness of the church as all too many churchgoers evidence hostility towards God's Law.
When most Christians spend more time reading the newspapers and watching TV than in worshipping and serving Christ, we should not be surprised that humanism dominates the church. The missionary sending base of South Africa is being eroded and corrupted by materialism and humanism.
