Dear Dr. Kenneth Meshoe Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. How are you and your family? You, your family, your congregation, the leaders of the Africa Christian Democratic Party, and your members and elected representatives, are regularly in our thoughts and prayers. As you know, from the very beginning, Africa Christian Action and the Christian Action Network have enthusiastically supported the ACDP in many ways For over 21 years we have promoted the ACDP through the many hundreds-of-thousands of copies of Biblical Issues Voters Guides that we have printed and distributed in English, Afrikaans, Zulu and Xhosa; through the www.SAVotersGuide.org website, on the Christian Action website and Africa Christian Action Facebook page, in many articles in the Christian Action magazine, on our Salt and Light radio programmes broadcast on Radio Tygerberg; in articles and news items that we have prepared for JOY! and JUIG! Magazines; at public meetings; at Biblical Worldview Seminars and Summits and at Great Commission Camps and Courses, we have consistently and vigorously promoted the Biblical Worldview, pro-family, pro-life, moral principles and values and emphasized that Christian citizens have a duty before Almighty God to vote their values according to the principles of our Faith.
At thousands of public meetings, on hundreds of radio programmes, on scores of TV programmes, at annual Life Chains, National Days of Repentance, marches to parliament, National Women's Day outreaches, in shopping malls throughout the country, through our social media, regular e-mailings, literature distribution, and in countless personal conversations. Africa Christian Action has been the ACDP's most consistent champion and practical support on the ground. This has included distributing tens-of-thousands of Biblical Issues Voters Guide leaflets every election, at traffic lights, on the streets, at church services, at book shops, at seminars, conferences, and other events. Wherever possible, we have sought to invite and include representatives of the ACDP in events such as the National Day of Repentance march to parliament and Prayer Vigil, marking the tragic anniversary of the legalisation of abortion in this country, at Life Chains, on the first Sunday of every October, at numerous of our camps and courses, and frequently on radio programmes as well. We have worked long and hard to source and import some of the very best materials for Christian democracy and to produce materials tailor-made for the social and political issues of South Africa. This has included producing Biblical Principles for Africa, in five different editions, in three languages, well over 45,000 copies so far. These books include Forewords and messages from yourself as President of the ACDP and from other ACDP members of parliament. On the back of the more recent editions of Biblical Principles for Africa we have quotes from three different leaders of the ACDP, including yourself, prominently displayed. We have also produced books such as South Africa – Renaissance or Reformation, Make a Difference – A Christian Action Handbook for Southern Africa, The Pink Agenda – Sexual Revolution in South Africa and the Ruin of the Family, and Porndemic – How the Pornography Plague Affects You and What You Can Do About It, which also includes a message from ACDP MP, Steve Swart. Similarly, Character Assassins – Dealing with Ecclesiastical Tyrants and Terrorists, also includes messages and prominent quotes from yourself and other members of the ACDP on the back cover of the book and in the Introduction. We have produced numerous other books and audio visual materials to promote a Christian South Africa and to provide leaders and members of the ACDP with the Spiritual and intellectual ammunition needed in this battle to reclaim South Africa for Christ, including Reforming Our Families, Answering Skeptics, The Ten Commandments – God's Perfect Law of Liberty, Victorious Christians – Who Changed the World, The Greatest Century of Reformation, South Africa for Christ, Biblical Principles which God will Bless in any Country, and much more on Slideshare and SermonAudio. In addition we have donated quantities of these materials to members of the ACDP. I do not know if there is any group which has done more, practically, on the ground, to promote and advance the ACDP and the cause of Biblical principles for government in this country, over the last 21 years. For well over a year the executive of the Christian Action Network has been seeking a strategy meeting with the leadership of the ACDP, yet so far without success. There are many critical issues which need to be addressed, so that we can learn from the recent elections and plan effectively for the future. We are deeply disturbed by the socialist policies and humanist positions taken in the Manifesto of 2014 and on the ACDP website. The latest poster put out by the ACDP Western Cape: Help Wanted: ACDP Call for Candidates for 2016 Elections, is a public relations disaster. Prominently quoting from Einstein, Ghandi and Mandela, there is not a single Scriptural quote, or Christian concept, even mentioned in the entire poster. Is Jesus Christ no longer worth quoting on an ACDP poster? Are there no Christians that can be quoted to mobilise the kind of candidates the ACDP wants to represent them? Who authorised this shocking and disgraceful poster? Does this represent the new face of the ACDP? If the ACDP wants to put up the pictures and quotes of the man who legalised abortion, pornography, prostitution and homosexuality in this country, a Hindu and a secular humanist scientist who helped produce the atom bomb as their inspiration and examples, then perhaps the ACDP needs to remove the 'Christian' from its title. Well actually the name Christian does not even appear on that ACDP poster. When the ACDP began, I was asked to be on the Guardian Committee and was on occasion called upon for some meetings. It has been more than a decade since I have heard the ACDP mention its Guardian Committee and I have not been called on for advice or Leadership Training for many years. Does the Guardian Committee still function? Am I still on it? We want to see the ACDP succeed as a bold and Biblical Party, dedicated to reclaiming South Africa for Christ. We have continually offered to host you and other members of the National Executive of the ACDP to join us at Livingstone House for lunch, and to discuss practical and positive strategies for success in the future. Despite promises to get back to us over a year ago, and several reminders from ourselves, we have yet to meet with the leadership of the ACDP, or receive a letter in response to the letter I sent, 30 June 2014 (attached). I carefully studied the Manifesto of 2014 and was deeply distressed to see that the ACDP no longer stood for Christian education completely controlled by the parents and not by the state. In fact there was nothing specifically Christian about the education policies in the ACDP's Manifesto 2014. We cannot continue to give the ACDP completely favourable scores in the Biblical Issues Voters Guides and on the www.SAVotersGuide.org website, when the ACDP policy no longer justifies that. At the beginning, the ACDP was expressly against racial quotas, but now in your Manifesto 2014, and statements on your ACDP website, you support the racial quotas policies of Affirmative Action and BEE. Similarly, the socialist policies, which the ACDP once spoke out against, are now adopted in the Manifesto 2014 and on the ACDP website. As I have travelled around the country and interacted with people from a wide variety of situations and backgrounds, the feedback I have received has been deeply distressing. There is a widespread disenchantment with politics in general and with various political parties, including the ACDP. Pessimism is at an all-time high. Despite the population of South Africa increasing from 39 million in 1994, to 55 million in 2014, the number of voters has steadily declined. Less people voted in the last elections than in the 1994 election! We would be glad to give our insights and seek to advise and help the ACDP become an effective Biblical party, dedicated to reclaiming South Africa for Christ. We would like to host you for lunch, or if that is not convenient, for supper, to discuss practical, positive strategies for success in the future. May God bless, guide and strengthen you.
